The
Certified Student Leader (CSL) program is an excellent opportunity
for you to develop into the successful leader your student organizations
need and count on. This program helps student leaders and professional
staff develop leadership skills and gain the tools needed to lead
more effectively. The certification process, including an exam,
focuses on quality leadership training and strengthens your campus
organization with trained and trusted leaders.
The CSL Program is offered in 3 different
formats where you will
learn cutting-edge leadership skills and strategies designed to
foster an enriched campus community.
All three formats include intensive workshops which focus on four
main areas of leadership:
Intentional and Inclusive Community Building: From Awareness
to Collaboration
Communication and Conflict Resolution: Listen, Learn, and
Speak
Organizational Management: Effective Meetings and Productive Action
Publicity and Promotion: Shared Vision and Best Practices
You are required to pass the CSL exam to receive certification.
This designation denotes that you have acquired skills necessary
for effective leadership and demonstrated your understanding
of the material.
Upon successful completion of the exam, Certified Student Leaders
will receive:
a parliamentary procedure packet, including useful reference
tools
an award folder for displaying the CSL certificate
an official CSL certificate
a press release that can be sent to college and hometown
newspapers
a Certified Student Leader portfolio
a CSL pin
