You Want What By When? Best Practice Project Management

Successful student leaders need to become great project managers!

Super projects are on time, on task, on target, and under budget.

As a successful project manager, you break large projects into manageable tasks, assign the right tasks to the right people, and maintain communication within your organization.

Terrific project managers can see the full scope of any program, event, or initiative, but are not “teams of one.”

Your leadership and comprehensive approach will guide your organization to success.

In this National Center for Student Leadership trainer, led by Kristin Skarie, you learn how to:

  • Define your projects clearly by size and scope
  • Prioritize your projects by categories
  • Implement a “who can benefit” mindset to collaborate and delegate
  • Customize a checklist for your projects to ensure continuity and comprehensive planning

Apply project management principles to your student programs, events, processes, and initiatives for streamlined planning.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Reinforce best practices for understanding projects and project management excellence.
  2. Learn tools for categorizing and prioritizing the elements of projects.
  3. Understand the importance of a project plan for enhanced communication and work flow.
