Risk Management 101

For most students, "risk management" means "fun prevention."

The perception is that policies and rules are meant to control students and put a damper on college experiences.

Learn the reality of risk management, and why it's important to your organization in this National Center for Student Leadership trainer, led by Kimberly Novak.

You learn:

  • What risk management is.
  • How you can implement it while maintaining your organization's spirit and traditions.
  • How you need to manage types of risk: physical, reputational, emotional, and financial.
  • How values, ethics, and principled decision-making can guide risk decisions.
  • How you assess whether events and activities are consistent with your mission.
  • How you discuss risk management constructively within your organization.

See how you can protect your organization, your people ... and your team spirit.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Reframe the concept of risk management as a student leadership skill
  2. Be able to articulate the importance of risk management in an organization
  3. Design a proactive risk management plan for organization events
