Keeping Stress Under Control

Stress for college students is ubiquitous.

Because you're in a leadership role, you've invited even more of it into your life.

In this National Center for Student Leadership trainer, led by Karin Malkowski Stende, you'll learn about how your body reacts to stress, and the healthy steps you can take to control it.

You'll gain valuable insight into:

  • Signs of burnout — fatigue, anger, self-criticism, headaches, sleeplessness, and more.
  • How to assess your "burnout" level.
  • How your body's reaction to stress increases in intensity over time.
  • Meditation and relaxation methods.
  • Positive dietary responses to stress — what to eat and when.
  • The value of sleep and exercise.

You can live busy and healthy. This seminar will show you how.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Analyze stress levels at the individual and organizational level
  2. Differentiate positive and negative stressors
  3. Develop strategies for reducing negative membership stress surrounding organization events, meetings, and programs
  4. Identify practical dietary and behavioral modifications to work with stress factors
