About NCSL

NCSL for 30 yearsYour leadership resource for 30 years

The National Conference on Student Leadership (NCSL) has been providing leadership development conferences for college student leaders and their advisors for thirty years. Started in 1978 as the National Conference on Student Services, NCSL has impacted tens of thousands of college students from across the country and around the world.

The first conference took place in Madison, WI and NCSL now hosts three conferences per year nationwide including recent locations like Orlando, San Diego, and Atlanta. In thirty years, NCSL has grown from a few hundred participants to nearly 1,500 each year!

NCSL is truly a unique student leadership event, bringing together student leaders from a wide variety of campus organizations, from student government and campus activities, to Phi Theta Kappa and residence life, and more. This exceptional opportunity gives students and advisors the chance to dialogue with others in both similar and different roles. The conference consists of multiple keynote speakers, concurrent workshop sessions facilitated by higher education professionals and professional speakers, interactive events, and several meals that provide networking opportunities. Participants not only learn from an amazing line-up of presenters, but they also learn from activities, events, and philosophies of other colleges. The conference atmosphere strongly encourages sharing and interaction.

NCSL has adapted to the changing needs of student leaders over the past 30 years. We conduct focus groups and surveys to stay focused on our audience. Also, NCSL continues to implement programs to fit the ever-changing needs of student leaders.

The National Conference on Student Leadership (NCSL) is a matchless opportunity to exchange ideas, broaden your horizons, and network with leaders from campuses near and far.
